Welcome

You've found your way to the home of strategic golf course architecture, one of the oldest heathland courses in the world. We hope you enjoy your time at Woking.

Home of Strategic Architecture
The Course

Set across the sand and heather of Hook Heath, Woking is one of the most natural canvases in the game. Every bunker, every subtle contour, has been placed with intent. The fairway bunkers at the 4th, introduced in 1901 by John Low and Stuart Paton, are widely credited as the moment strategic golf course architecture was born.

133 years of heathland

Carefully guarded by strategic bunkering, framed by Scots pine, laid out across the heart of Surrey.

Film

Story of a Golf Club

Laid out in 1893 by Tom Dunn and transformed in the early 1900s by John Low and Stuart Paton, two amateur members whose radical ideas shaped modern golf course architecture. Their influence is still being written about today.

Film

The Moles

The Moles, Woking's winter golfers' society, have been playing the course in the colder months for well over a century. This short film tells their story.
