The first of two consecutive par-5s and one of the most sociable holes on the course. The green sits close to the clubhouse veranda, turning every approach into a small performance. With the putting surface angled from front left to back right, a pulled shot can easily find itself among the tables, followed by the delicate business of chipping or putting from the veranda before a quietly entertained audience. Once the ball is finally holed, the bar offers a belated halfway refuge – and, for the more tactically minded, a chance to soften the opposition before the closing stretch.
