Woking Golf Club

Woking Golf Club in Surrey

A unique heathland golfing challenge in Surrey

Woking Golf Club was founded in 1893 on an area of open heathland in north-west Surrey and has since matured into a testing inland links. The initial course architect, Tom Dunn, made excellent use of the gently undulating topography. The course is characterised by long carries over heather to narrow, tree lined, fast running fairways and beautifully sculptured greens full of character and deceptive slopes. Woking Golf Club is the oldest of the three famous "W"s in the Woking area and has been described as a "hidden gem".

During 2007/08 the course has been lengthened by the introduction of "black" tees so that the course now measures 6555 yards with a par of 70 and a SSS of 72 from the back tees. The recently installed fairway watering system ensures that the fairways are always in excellent condition.

The course is currently (Nov 2008) rated no 77 out of 100 for courses in Britain and Ireland by Golf World Magazine.

During the week Woking Golf Club welcomes visitors. However at weekends, visitors must be accompanied by a member. Please note that the Club is primarily a "two ball" club, although other formats of golf are permitted with the prior permission of the Club Secretary.

The Club prides itself on a warm welcome extended to all golfers and our aim is to ensure that all visitors have a very memorable day. Whatever the occasion our staff are here to see that you enjoy your day and will want to visit us again.
